Tomorrow, June 24th, 2026 marks 4 years since the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health that overturned the limited federal abortion protections of Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey. Missouri politicians utilized the trigger law passed in 2019 to ban abortion within 20 minutes of the decision coming down, making Missouri the first state in the nation to totally ban abortion.

Governor Kehoe announced the official election dates for upcoming votes on ballot questions, including the new abortion ban, Amendment 3. November 3rd, 2026 Missourians will once again be asked whether or not to ban abortion.

The Missouri Senate Third Read and passed SB 999, a tricky abortion ban that politicians call the “born alive abortion” bill. Drafted by anti-abortion lobbyists across the country, medical professionals refer to these types of bills as TRAP (Targeted Regulation of Abortion Providers) Laws because they are designed to restrict and ultimately ban abortion care in effect, although not explicitly stated in the text.

On International Workers’ Day, St. Louis workers, students, and community members joined Missourians across the state for a “No Work, No School, No Shopping” nationwide day of economic disruption. Over a thousand St. Louisans gathered in Aloe Plaza.

the Federal 5th Circuit Court granted the State of Louisiana’s challenge to the FDA’s 2023 rule that allowed for mifepristone, the primary medication abortion pill, to be dispensed via telehealth. While further litigation continues, abortion providers will no longer be permitted to dispense mifepristone to patients without an in-person visit, despite the safety and efficacy of telehealth medication abortion care.

Today, Wednesday, April 8, 2026, the Senate Committee on Economic Development accepted public testimony on SB 1547, a bill that includes language to increase the already inflated allocation of taxpayer dollars to unregulated pregnancy centers.
