As a gender nonconforming Black parenting person, I tell my story to rewrite the rural Midwestern narrative to include the stories of Black rural communities. Black rural folks exist, we utilize abortion care and we deserve reproductive freedom and abortion access. I tell my story because as long as the rural Midwest remains whitewashed, Black pain and joy erased from history, we will never reach the Reproductive Justice we seek.”
