Activist Agenda – Issue 15

Feature Summary (Maggie 3 day countdown)
The one year anniversary of the devastating Supreme Court Dobbs’ decision–overturning Roe v Wade and  triggering Missouri’s abortion ban – is approaching. Performing abortions in Missouri is now a criminal offense – further attacks on abortion patients, their loved ones, and their care providers are becoming increasingly normalized, and anti-abortion violence is at an all time high – the game has changed, and we’re changing with it.

This weekend, Pro-Choice Missouri is stepping boldly into our future with a new name and vision for Missouri. Keep an eye out on our socials and check your email (including that SPAM folder!) for our announcement coming this weekend.

Anti-abortion politicians across the nation and our state have made it clear that the attacks on abortion access and reproductive freedom won’t stop: Missouri is led by politicians bent on stripping ALL Missourians of our power and autonomy, and criminalizing our bodies and families to further their own power and control. Despite the hardships of this year, we are celebrating a year of resilience and resistance, and making sure our community knows, no matter the actions of politicians hundreds of miles away, we will never stop fighting for Missourians’ right to access reproductive healthcare!

If you’re in St. Louis this weekend, join us for a reproductive freedom block party this Sunday, June 25 from 2-5PM at the Ritz Pocket park at 3147 South Grand for a transformative Reproductive Freedom Black Party! Don’t miss this fun family-friendly event!

Pro-Choice Missouri congratulates the endorsed pro-abortion champions who crossed the finish line in the Kansas City Municipal Election last night. As we approach the one-year anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court Dobbs decision and resulting total ban on abortion care, the 6 of 8 champions who won is a testament to the will of the people across Missouri. The pro-abortion champions winning in local jurisdictions, from St. Louis to Kansas City, are a testament to what we know is true: 7 in 10 Missourians oppose political interference in abortion care.

Pro-Choice Missouri congratulates the following pro-abortion champions:

  • Mayor Quinton Lucas
  • Council member-elect Crispin Rea, District 4 at-Large
  • Council Member Eric Bunch, District 4
  • Council Member Ryana Parks-Shaw, District 5
  • Council Member Andrea Bough, District 6 at-Large
  • Council member-elect Johnathan Duncan, District 6

Kansas citizens boldly rose to meet the moment and voted for the reproductive freedom and abortion access we deserve.
